Wellbeing and Social Ergonomics in Workplace Design

Wellbeing and Social Ergonomics in Workplace Design will be the primary focus of this second event of the month featuring industry professionals from Herman Miller and The Executive Centre and taking place on Monday 18th at The Executive Centre, Dubai.

A workplace that helps initiate and regulate social interaction that takes into consideration factors like personal space, physical and psychological proximity and territoriality can seriously affect our mood and wellbeing. When we feel better, we work better. The concept of wellness and social ergonomics is paving the way to new workplace design strategies where the growth and reputation of a company is cultivated together with a happy, healthy workforce. Participants will leave with a basic understanding of how to design spaces that are more naturally human; a basic understanding of physical ergonomics; a basic understanding of cognitive ergonomics and a basic understanding of social Ergonomics.

Key learning points include:

  • Understand how social ergonomics interacts with cognitive and physical ergonomics to create positive experiences at work.

  • Understand how people use office tools and furniture to demonstrate their sociality and cognition.

  • Understand the design considerations related to social, cognitive and physical ergonomics.

  • Be better equipped to use the workplace as a strategic asset, thanks to a better understanding of ergonomics’ impact on work and the workplace.
