We look forward to seeing you at this month's event which will focus on the challenges of modern urban development and rapid population growth that disrupt the current climate and water cycle; SMART Design solutions that focus on managing wter as an asset rather than a waste product - SUDS and Source Control - offering multifunctional benefits to projects that help mitigate the effects of climate change and urban heat island effect; and the creation of green space in our urban environment that promote wellbeing, the circular economy (urban farming and food security) and bio-diversity - healthy and sustainable environments for our cities future inhabitants.
Our speaker is Adam Smith, Managing Director at Polypipe Middle East. Adam represents Polypipe in the Middle East as the leading manufacturer of water and waste wter management solutions. Adam started his professional career in the United Kingdom in the mid 1990's, upon leaving school he trained as a City & Guilds qualified piping engineer, delivering turn-key projects throughout the UK for various SME and large tier 1 contractors. He then looked towards manufacturing for change in career, securing an opportunity to utilize his technical background, for the Polypipe Group, the UK's largest plastic piping systems manufacturer. Adam's role took him to the Middle East early 2010 to develop the interests of the business in various key markets, whilst being involved and supporting organisations such as CIBSE, Constructing Excellence and the BRE. Adam is passionate about water and the future of sustainable solutios for the built environment in the region.
