2017 Annual Canberra Half Day Event

Tuesday 1 August 2017

QT Canberra Ballroom, 1 London Circuit, Canberra

This year’s Government Property Forum will focus on thinking differently about workplace portfolios by adopting innovative approaches to deliver value for money outcomes and transform team engagement.

Globally in the private sector and governments, large users of accommodation are rapidly moving to agile working solutions, enabling work any where, any how and any time. More important than the financial considerations, is growing recognition that workplace solutions are key to engaging with and motivating their team members. In addition, organisations are starting to realise the importance of investing in the health and well-being of teams.

Recent history has shown that MOG (machinery-of-government) changes will continue to occur through changes of government, Prime Ministers or even Cabinet shuffles. To compete for talent, facilitate staffing changes and be more cost efficient, new flexible and innovative accommodation use arrangements will need to be adopted by Government.

The topics to be covered in the half-day forum with leading industry keynote presenters, case studies and panel discussions on the opportunities and the challenges in transforming Government approaches to accommodation planning and employee engagement.

  • Rhonda Brighton-Hall, CEO and founder of mwah.live (Making Work Absolutely Wonderful) will be the key note speaker in leading the conversation ‘Thinking differently about work and workplaces’.
  • Emine Mehmet, CEO and founder of WELL Space will lead us through the thinking of what needs to be done in workplaces to invest in the health and well-being of our team members and why it is important.
  • Chris Alcock, Principal of Six-Ideas will facilitate the presentation of two Government case studies of new workplaces in which new agile and innovative workplace solutions have been adopted and will chair an extended panel of experts in rounding off the conversation.
