Entering a new era of workplace design focused on Relationship-Based Design and Belonging; to shape the future, we must first understand the past.
Inspired by research driven by Gensler and MillerKnoll, this program explores how relationship-based work (RBW) is reshaping environments to foster deeper connections, inclusivity, neurodiversity, and a sense of belonging. Drawing insights from Gensler’s 2025 Global Workplace Survey and MillerKnoll’s commitment to human-centered spaces, we’ll examine the shift from transactional to relational workplaces, where design is not just about functionality, but also about creating spaces that nurture relationships, well-being, and community.
To navigate the future of the workplace, we must first understand its past. This session will look at how past design models have impacted employee experience, how the role of relationships has evolved, and how today’s workplace must adapt to the dynamic needs of a new workforce.
