Katy Mercer has over two decades of experience in architecture and interior design. As a Principal and Regional Interior Design Leader at Woods Bagot, Katy leads a team of talented designers across various sectors, including transportation, workplace interiors, higher education, hospitality, and luxury residences. Her portfolio spans vastly different scales and project types, allowing her to bring a holistic perspective to her work. Katy's influence extends beyond project work; she serves on the San Francisco International Airport’s Design Review Committee and is a frequent speaker, panelist, and juror with local universities and industry organizations. She's recognized for her role in the San Francisco International Airport Terminal 1 redesign, among other high-profile projects, and has been featured in several industry publications. Her career spans significant achievements from California to Sydney, including redesign projects for prominent tech companies including but not limited to Google, Stripe, Dropbox, Airbnb, Hulu, Apple, HP Inc., Twitter and others. Since joining Woods Bagot, Katy has played a pivotal role in expanding the firm's West Coast studios and contributing to major projects across the region. Her education includes international studies in Florence, Italy while studying architecture at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and she recently served as the IIDA Northern California Chapter President, emphasizing her commitment to advancing the interior design profession.
