This groundbreaking series features 44 monumental murals brought to life by renowned international and local artists, each one a vibrant statement for social and environmental justice. Curated by Street Art for Mankind, these awe-inspiring artworks are transforming our cityscape, enhancing its beauty, and energizing our downtown core.

Ann Taylor
Director of Engagement Downtown

As Engagement Team lead, Ann is responsible for creative direction, implementation, and outcomes of brand, communications, public relations, marketing, events and programming for Central Houston, Inc. (CHI), Houston Downtown Management District (HDMD), and Downtown Redevelopment Authority / TIRZ#3 (DRA). These organizations are collectively known as Downtown Houston+. She directed the consolidation of six websites into one streamlined website, as well as a complete overhaul of public-facing brands—including one very fine-looking garbage truck! She also is a subject matter expert and enthusiastic tour guide for Big Art. Bigger Change., Downtown’s soon-to-be 50 fine art murals depicting 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Prior to joining Downtown, Ann served Ion District and the Ion as marketing strategy lead, launching the brand for the 16-acre mixed use innovation district developed by Rice Management Company. Prior to that, she was Vice President of Midway, where she directed branding for East River, the transformative,150-acre community on  1+ mile of waterfront on Buffalo Bayou. As Executive Director of the Urban Land Institute’s Houston district council, she directed local initiatives for the the oldest and largest network of cross-disciplinary real estate and land use experts in the world. After working for local PR agencies, she founded one of Houston’s top-20 PR firms, which was acquired by one of the Southwest’s largest independent advertising agencies. Ann is a proud graduate of Rice University and an Astrodome Conservancy board member.
