CoreNet Chicago and Friends of the Chicago River invite you to get your hands dirty and have a real impact during this Canoe and Clean event. Support the mission to improve and protect the Chicago River system for people, plants, and animals.
The Details:

- Friday, June 21 | 2828 S Eleanor St, Chicago, noon - 3 p.m. Rain or shine.

Lunch will be provided at noon in the boat house.

Volunteers can choose to help by foot on land clean or by canoe on the water.
-
Capacity: 14 participants on water, 20 participants on land.
-
All clean up equipment will be provided (boats, bags, gloves, grabbers, paddles, life jackets, canoe guides, and trash bags).

Canoe & land guides will help you safely load in and out of the boats, offer paddling instruction and answer questions for this unforgettable experience.
The Schedule:

- Noon - 1 p.m. - Lunch (provided) and networking

1 p.m. - 1:15pm - Orientation led by Friends of the Chicago River Guides

1:15 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. - Canoe launch, land cleanup efforts begin

1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. - Clean-up Efforts

2:30 p.m. - 3 p.m. - Wrap-up (return boats and supplies, team photo)
Members & Non-Members: $20 Donation (payable here) to Friends of the Chicago River.

Tips:
Bring your reusable water bottle as water will be provide for refills |
Bring personal items like sunscreen, sunglasses, camera, ect. |
Event will be held rain or shine – please be sure to dress appropriately |
The boathouse does have bathrooms. However once the event begins they will not be available – please plan and time your visit accordingly |

All participants will be required to fill out the Friend of the Chicago River Waiver |
