The increasing frequency and severity of natural hazards is elevating physical and financial risks to commercial real estate assets and pose health and safety risks to the occupants of those buildings. New disclosure rules by the SEC and State of California are designed to acknowledge these risks, increase transparency for investors, and encourage risk mitigation. Identifying, prioritizing, and implementing resilience solutions that provide cost effective risk mitigation for assets starts with conducting a property resilience assessment. This session will introduce the growing practice of property resilience assessment, and how to use it to assess and mitigate vulnerabilities, while improving the resilience and performance of new and existing buildings.
