A long-standing tradition of career stories this year brings a new twist! This will be an engaging and interactive event where the audience will play a key role in shaping the career stories and conversations.

 

In addition to sharing their own career journeys, our panel will cover career-focused topics such as networking, hiring, career development, career paths within a company – tackling topics YOU suggest with an extended Q&A component.

Speakers:

 

Christopher Horblit | Vice President of Workplace Services, The TJX Companies, Inc.

Chris is Senior Vice President of Workplace Services for The TJX Companies, Inc., the leading off-price retailer of apparel and home fashions in the U.S. and worldwide. He is responsible for all functional areas of Real Estate including planning, design, construction, facility and vendor management along with service departments security, auto leasing, and mail & reproduction services for the corporate portfolio.

 

Prior to TJX, Chris was President and Head Real Estate at Fidelity Investments where he was responsible for the full range of corporate real estate strategy and services to Fidelity’s business units globally. He also held roles in Fidelity Risk Oversight, where he was responsible for Global Security Operations, and Fidelity Management and Research Company (FMRCo), where he was responsible for starting their Risk Management Group. Prior to joining Fidelity in 1997, Chris held positions at JMB Urban Properties, a national real estate development firm, and Berklee College of Music.

 

Chris has been an active member of CoreNet Global New England for nearly 20 years and held positions on the Chapter Board of Directors and Executive Committee, including serving as President of the Chapter from 2011-2014. He currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Chapter.

 

Gabrielle Harvey | Sr. Managing Director, JLL

Gabrielle Harvey concentrates on representing portfolio companies in the delivery of multiple corporate real estate services globally. As the Account Executive for multiple corporate end users, she specializes in headquarters strategy, portfolio management, and developing and implementing portfolio-wide real estate solutions.

 

Gabrielle has delivered strategic portfolio and transaction management solutions across all major US markets as well as EMEA, South America, Asia-Pac totaling 12.6 million square feet globally over the past 2 years.

 

Gabrielle is active in several organizations and currently services on the CoreNet Global New England Board of Directors. She also graduated from both the Young Leader Program and Leadership 2.0 Program, and was recognized in 2019 with the Young Leader Award. She received an MBA in Finance & Real Estate from Southern Methodist University and a BS in Marketing from Syracuse University.

 

 

Sandra King | Principal, CREST

Sandra is a Principal with the CREST (Commercial Real Estate Success Training) Internship program that places underrepresented minority college students and women in the commercial real estate industry. Currently Founder/CEO at STKing Associates, LLC, she has also held Vice President of Marketing and Communications positions at Bentley University, Northeastern University, and Babson College, all in newly created executive level marketing and communication leadership roles.

 

Sandra is known for her innovative and effective communications strategy, successful strategic partnerships, and cultivation of strong teams that work effectively across organizations. She has extensive experience leading sales, marketing and communications functions including brand development, public relations, market research, program management, and crisis management teams.

 

Her broad industry experience includes work in higher education, healthcare, financial services, commercial real estate, manufacturing, business services, and consulting. She is active in many organizations, serving on both Daily Table and Project Venture NIYLP Board of Directors. Her valuable work with CREST has had a positive influence and lasting impact on many beginning their real estate careers!

 

Brian Walsh | Partner, 52X Consulting

Brian Walsh is a Partner with 52XConsulting, a boutique recruitment consultancy that specializes in providing search and HR consulting services within the A/E/C & CRE spaces.

 

Brian and his teams act as career advisors to their talent networks and as strategic partners to their client firms, bringing a consultative approach to both the firms he represents to the talent community and the firms he and his teams represent. He has 23 years of experience in the recruitment space and since opening the practice in 2017, Brian has successfully placed over 400 professionals in the Boston A/E/C & CRE spaces.

 

Brian currently serves on CoreNet’s Career Strategies + Development committee.

 

Steve Flanagan | Business Development Manager, Consigli Construction

Steve Flanagan is involved with Consigli Construction’s business development efforts in the Higher Education, Independent School and Museum sectors.

 

Before moving into a BD position twenty-two years ago, Steve was a construction manager for ten years and prior to that worked for ten years as an architect after graduating from Boston Architectural College.

 

In 2008 due to the financial crisis Steve decided to publicly announce his goal to help 100 people land jobs in the AEC Industry. Thanks to the power of social media and the many people who have stepped up to help him with this goal #TheGAME has helped 429 people all over the world. #LOVEthisGAME

Katherine Sanford | Real Estate Delivery Manager, Liberty Mutual

Katherine is a Real Estate Delivery Manager at Liberty Mutual Insurance where she leads the Occupancy Logistics team focusing on workplace, planning and project execution across their domestic and global portfolios.

 

She has a unique blend of project management, strategic planning, architectural design, and business expertise gained from her experience in corporate real estate at BNY Mellon, State Street Bank and Bank of America. Katherine’s architectural foundation was formed in New York City at Gensler and Kohn Pedersen Fox Architects leading large scale, complex projects for a variety of prominent Fortune 500 companies from the finance, legal, entertainment, insurance, and management consulting sectors. She holds a BS in Architecture from New York Institute of Technology.

 

Katherine has been an active CoreNet member since 2009 and serves on CoreNet New England’s Board of Directors. She is also the long-time Co-Chair of the Career Strategies + Development Committee. Beyond CoreNet, Katherine has participated in other industry organizations including CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women), IFMA and Boston Society of Architects. An active member of Boston’s Real Estate Community, Katherine considers community involvement to be a key part of a successful career journey.
