Description: The new ATA (American Trucking Association) headquarters is located in a three-story mass timber overbuild, the very first of its kind in Washington, DC. This 60,000 RSF, one-and-a-half-story fit-out is complete with interconnecting stairs, a private terrace, and a rapidly reconfigurable conference center. This workplace represents the culmination of intense coordination between the interior architect and the building architect who worked to fit the structure to the needs of the tenant while realizing meaningful cost savings. The tenant required modifications to the base building including a slab opening for the stair as well as exterior entrances to the terrace to name a few. The project was delivered through rigorous detailing and active partnership between disciplines. On tour, you will hear perspectives from various disciplines. Immediately following the tour we will head to Takoda for happy hour!
