The concept of a digital twin is not a new concept. Digital twins provide significant benefits to CRE including increased utilization, greater customer satisfaction, extending the life of assets, smart cleaning and reduced energy usage. The purpose of this session is to help you understand the concepts behind a digital twin, potential benefits and how to leverage digital twins. The intro will discuss how a digital twin provides the foundation for a smart building. Then the two core concepts of a digital twin, first an electronic representation of the building, and second, analyzing and modeling what is and could happen within that building will be discussed. After this, we will look at the wide range of technology and datasets that could be part of a digital twin this includes but isn’t limited to building information modeling, mapping integration, IoT devices and sensors. Finally practical use cases will be discussed along with advice on how to get started. This seminar is recommended for vendors too, as one should know the trends its customers are following and new methods they are looking to implement.
