Pega's Journey towards CDP Disclosure
Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is a not-for-profit charity that runs the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts. Over the past 20 years, CDP has created a system that has resulted in unparalleled engagement on environmental issues worldwide. Pega with a presence of 40 odd countries and with 16 sites with leased spaces in various countries commenced its sustainability journey in 2019 as the base year. In the year 2021, Pega made the decision to go for their maiden CDP disclosure and used the time from 2019 to strengthen their data collection in the Scope 1, 2 & 3 front. The experience that they gained during their first report and the B Minus score that they received is considered a good achievement. This score is on par with the global average and better than the industry average for companies that are in the IT and Software development space. Pega has taken a conscious call to continue reporting under CDP year on year.
The aim of presenting this case study to the members of the CoreNet Global India Chapter is to inspire others to follow the path.
