August 10, 2021 Houston Farmers Market Tour

Tuesday, August 10, 2021 to Tuesday, August 10, 2021
Houston Farmers Market Houston, TX, United States

The Houston Farmers Market

Located at 2520 Airline Drive, The Houston Farmers is a 17.67-acre market in the east side of The Heights. In May 2017, MLB Capital Partners purchased the property from The Farmers’ Marketing Association of Houston Inc., who owned and operated the market since its inception in 1942. For the past 78 years, the farmers market has served as a location for farmers to sell fresh produce and goods to the surrounding Houston neighborhoods. MLB Capital Partners enlisted an innovative and dedicated group of project consultants and partners to assist with the revitalization of this storied site, including James Beard Award-Winning Chef Chris Shepherd, Clark Condon Associates, Studio RED Architects, Gunda Corporation and Arch-Con Construction. Over the last three years, MLB Capital Partners has transformed the Houston Farmers’ Market into a destination retail experience offering more diversified products, renovated facilities and community programming with the goal of creating value for its vendors and guests. Enhanced facilities upgraded with modern infrastructure including new climate-controlled spaces, shaded open-air market areas, restrooms, and common seating areas will establish an environment ideal for extended hours of shopping, socializing and entertaining. Additional upgrades to the property include more visible, organized parking, traffic circulation, defined sidewalks, site landscaping and dedicated green spaces – providing an overall more enjoyable visitor experience. Dedicated green spaces will serve as a setting for community programming, such as chef demonstrations, wine tastings, local entertainment and more. In addition to improvements to the existing facilities, MLB Capital Partners plans to add square-footage to host a bevy of new merchants and culinary concepts at the Houston Farmers’ Market.
