The effects of climate change are threatening cities and businesses around the globe. Increasingly frequent wildfires, flooding, droughts, and rising sea levels are displacing populations and impacting supply chains, both of which are disrupting social, cultural, and economic norms.
Buildings contribute nearly 40% of global greenhouse gas emissions, according to Architecture 2030. Of this amount, 28% is due to building operations, and 11% is due to building materials and construction, so incorporating resilient design strategies into office building and workplace design can have a big impact.
