There is nowhere better to look for insight, and to discuss the impacts of COVID on our Corporate Real Estate Leadership, than with own array of amazing Sponsors. This Program, the first of two, will give us all the opportunity to hear the professional and personal stories of the challenges and silver linings learned by these leading organizations. They will also share their thoughts on how they see our Corporate Real Estate world evolving post-pandemic. Moderated by Rick Bertasi, this event promises to provide a unique spectrum of insight into Covid 19’s impact on CRE and what the future might hold.
About Our Moderator
Rick Bertasi
In the fall of 2016 Rick joined Bridgewater Associates where he is the Head of Real Estate and Facilities, reporting to the co-CEO. Rick’s responsibilities range from real estate strategies and site selection through to employee services and amenities, such as provision of daily lunch and transportation services for the Bridgewater staff. In 2019 Bridgewater outsourced Rick and most of his department and responsibilities to Genpact, where he remains and currently services Bridgewater and the Bridgewater portfolio.
Prior to this Rick was Managing Director, Group Network Development at Regus, PLC (now IWG) for 2 years, where he was responsible for the global network, growth, franchising and M&A for the company, creating a global strategy and delivery model which resulted in over 500 new store openings in his last full year. Previously Rick was at Deutsche Bank, where for five years he was Global Head of CRES for a 4200+ site portfolio of retail, office, data center and headquarter properties with an annual budget of over $3B. At DB Rick implemented a global service standardization model and co-authored a white paper on the bank’s global human capital strategy for all back-office functions.
Rick was President of USI and joined Johnson Controls (JCI) after they acquired USI, and in 2006 he moved to Europe to run EMEA for JCI Global WorkPlace Solutions, now part of CBRE. Under Rick the business doubled to nearly $2 billion in annual revenues, operating in 40 countries, over 20 currencies, and 8,000 employees.
Rick’s has a BA from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, where he was a Tuck Scholar. He was a board member of CoreNet Global, and the Chairman of the Tuck School European Advisory Board until his return to the US in the summer of 2016. Rick has been married for 30 years, has four grown children, for fun Rick participates in extreme endurance events such as the, PrimalQuest Adventure Race, Marathon des Sables and others.
Rick has dual USA and Italy citizenship.
