Increasing Space Utilization Through a Human Perspective

Wednesday, April 10, 2024 | 9:00-9:30am | Virtual

Kelly Barlow, Principal
The Clearing

People are the most important resource in any organization; however, when an organizational change such as in-office presence requirements or a space transformation is proposed or executed, leaders tend to focus on the technical aspects of the change (e.g., timeline, budget, design, contracting vendors). For such efforts to be successful and adopted, leaders need to understand the impact of the change on their people and address those impacts throughout the transformation. While cataloging every individual’s opinion on proposed changes is unwieldy, there are tools you can use to anticipate reactions and plan accordingly more broadly. In the April Coffee Chat, we’ll explore one used frequently at The Clearing: Empathy Mapping.

Presenter: Kelly Barlow is a seasoned strategy consultant specializing in workplace change. For more than 16 years, Kelly has helped organizations achieve and sustain success by focusing on the most important asset during change: people.

Whether moving, renovating, or implementing new workplace policies, Kelly’s depth of understanding in engagement and group facilitation aligns people, space, process, and technology in a way that reflects an organization’s culture. She has been a previous speaker at CoreNet Global and chapter events on workplace topics
