The newly formed CoreNet New England’s Equity, Inclusion & Diversity (EID) Committee is committed to deliver programs that raise awareness and provide education for our members and the broader real estate community. Join us for our inaugural event, where a panel of CRE, Nonprofit, and Organizational Development leaders will discuss the broader meaning of EID, the current “State of the Union”, and the intersectionality of EID, the pandemic, and racial inequity. During this session we will use interactive software to gather audience feedback and crowdsource topics for future events.

 

Moderator

 

   Mark Watkins, Director of Global Real Estate at Thermo Fisher Scientific

Mark helps lead a global portfolio of over 33M SF of diverse space, with a significant amount of international and M&A experience.  He has been with the company for nearly 20 years during which time the company has grown from a $2 billion analytical instruments company to a $25 billion world leader in life sciences, pharmaceutical and bio-tech. He has a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.  An active member of CoreNet, he helps to lead the New England Chapter’s EID initiative, is a member of the Real Advantage Committee and a board member of CoreNet New England.  He also serves on CoreNet’s global finance committee.

   Brian Collins, Senior Manager, Real Estate & Facilities at Microsoft Corporation

 Based in Redmond, Washington, Brian is currently responsible for leading Microsoft’s Real Estate and Workplace Planning, Accessibility and Change Management initiatives across the companies 14m square feet corporate headquarters. In addition, Brian leads the Microsoft Real Estate and Facilities Supported Employment Program.

Brian joined Microsoft in 1996 as the Facilities Manager for the Dublin campus, and in his previous roles with Microsoft he was responsible for The Global Workplace Strategies Group; defining and driving the ‘Workplace Advantage (WPA)’ program; including Workplace research, knowledge management, change management project consulting across Microsoft’s global portfolio. He was also Area Portfolio Manager for RE&F in Central & Eastern Europe, and Facilities Manager for EMEA (Europe Middle East & Africa) where he coordinated facilities activities over 160 locations in 50+ countries.

 

   Sandra St Fleur, Head of Organizational Development and Learning at UCLA Health

 Sandra St. Fleur is a subject-matter expert in the field of organizational development, talent management, and leadership development. Sandra brings nearly 20 years of experience in performance improvement, business transformation, and executive coaching in health care, managed care, technology and life sciences. Sandra has led talent management and organizational development departments for Massachusetts General Hospital, Sasaki, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

At UCLA Health, Sandra oversees the Center for Organizational Readiness and Education (CORE), the training and organizational development arm of Human Resources that provides UCLA Health leaders with strategic and technical assistance on organizational interventions, performance management, and learnings that enhance UCLA Health’s effectiveness and sustained success. This includes leading systematic, enterprise-wide change through the creation and reinforcement of organizational development initiatives and talent development programs, such as employee engagement, leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and employee learning.

Sandra holds an MBA in global leadership and innovation from MIT. She also holds an MA in English from Boston College where she also earned a BA in American Studies and Organizational Development.

 

   Ronald Marlow, Director of Workforce Development and Alternative Education at Action for Boston Community Development, Inc.

Ronald’s career spans the public and not-for-profit sectors. Presently, Ron serves as Director of Workforce Development and Alternative Education with Action for Boston Community Development, Inc. In this role, he oversees the development and delivery of workforce development programs targeted to adults and youth; English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) programming; two alternative education high schools, and the MassHire Metro North Career Centers. Before joining ABCD, Inc., he served as vice president for workforce development with the National Urban League, where he was responsible for workforce development programs funded by the National Urban League but delivered locally by Urban League affiliates. From 2015 to 2016, Marlow served as undersecretary for workforce development for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He also served as the state’s assistant secretary for access and opportunity where he oversaw a comprehensive approach to diversity and inclusion across procurement, personnel and policy platforms.

Marlow is the recipient of numerous awards including the NAACP’s distinguished “Keeper of the Flame” award and the Small Business Administration’s Minority Business Champion award for both the state of Massachusetts and the New England Region. Marlow earned his master’s degree in law, policy, and society from Northeastern University and his bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University.
