Please join us for an informal discussion with 4 ambitious women from our very own CT/Westchester Chapter. Our featured participants will surely prompt lively discussion by sharing their own professional insights and personal experiences in light of our current challenges. The discussion format is informal break out sessions with the opportunity to share, laugh and learn from one another.

Robyn Abbate is a Partner in the Real Estate, Environmental and Energy Department.
 
Robyn’s practice includes real estate, franchise, and general business counseling, with a focus on commercial leasing and real estate, where she counsels local and national companies, developers, franchisees, investors, and nonprofit organizations in various real estate matters, including office, retail, industrial, bond, build-to-suit, mixed-use, and ground lease transactions, for both landlords and tenants, the purchase and sale of commercial real estate, and the analysis and negotiation of general commercial contracts.
 
Robyn is on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut/Westchester Chapter of Corenet Global (a national corporate real estate trade association) and a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, the International Association of Attorneys and Executives in Corporate Real Estate, the National Retail Tenants Association, the International Council of Shopping Centers, and the Hartford County Bar Association.
Robyn earned her J.D. cum laude from Western New England College School of Law, and she received her B.A. with honors from the University of Connecticut.
 
Laura Kaufman

Laura Kaufman is a real estate advisor specializing in office and life science real estate leasing and development. She most recently served as Vice President and New York Market Lead at BioMed Realty and was responsible for the company’s NY region investments, successfully developed new lab buildings and brought the 1.5 million square foot portfolio to 100% occupancy. She launched her specialization in life science real estate in 2000 while serving as project executive for Lyme Properties of Boston, MA. She began her career at several Fortune 500 companies, first as a corporate real estate and facilities professional and later as a real estate portfolio manager at Bank of America. She earned her M.S. from New York University’s Schack Institute of Real Estate, a B.S. from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA, LEED AP from the USGBC, and is currently a licensed real estate broker in New York and Connecticut. 
 
Martha Mahoney
Sr. Project Manager, Operations

Martha works for FUJIFILM Holdings America Corporation, the shared services corporate entity of FUJIFILM as a Sr. Project Manager in the Operations group. Martha has had many fantastic experiences at Fujifilm including bringing the Open Innovation Hub in CA, the Wonder Photo Shop in NYC the new Corporate Headquarters for Medical Devices and the Collaboration Center in Cambridge, MA all to life. She is now working with the Life Sciences affiliate which is part of Operation Warp Speed program to build out facilities capable of large production of vaccines. In her past, she has been a delivery driver for UPS, lived in the Atlanta Olympic Athlete's Village while managing the logistics operations during the Olympics, spent a year in Sydney Australia working to bring the broadcast of the 2000 Olympic Games to the fans in America. Martha has traveled to almost every continent on personal voyages- she is still hoping to arrive in Antarctica one day. Besides travel, her main interests are sports and her large Irish Italian family.
 
Connie Van Rhyn

Connie is a licensed designer, LEED AP, Prosci certified Change Practitioner, and a member of the CoreNet Strategy and Portfolio Planning Community which focuses on the areas of intersection among key aspects of portfolio planning, including finance, technology, sustainability, health and wellness and talent. She received her BFA in Design from Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts and her MS from Pratt Institute’s School of Architecture.
 
Connie’s passion is creating sustainable, functional and cost-effective work environments that attract and retain talent while enhancing the employee experience. Her most recent engagement has been consulting with WWE, Inc. on a number of projects including their preparation to transition four separate locations to a ~400,000SF HQ space in downtown Stamford, CT.
 
Prior to WWE, Connie was a VP of Global Facilities / Real Estate at AQR Capital Management, LLC and she was the Director of Workplace Strategy and Sustainability at PepsiCo, Inc. At PepsiCo, Inc. she established and led Workplace Strategy globally. Additionally, she partnered with engineering to create the Sustainability Engineering Guidelines (SEG) and achieve LEED certification for over 40 sites across the portfolio, including LEED Platinum for the ~420,000SF HQ in Purchase NY. She developed Workplace KPIs and metrics focused on the topic - Is the Workplace Working?
 
Connie received a Harvey Russell and a Chairman’s Award for being a founder of the Enable network for people with different abilities and promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace; one of PepsiCo’s goals.
